Our school Governors have an important and varied role in helping to run Hilltop Primary Academy. There are three core functions in the role of a school Governor:

  • Planning the strategic direction of the school
  • Overseeing the financial performance of the school and ensuring the money is well spent
  • Holding the Headteacher and school leadership to account

Governors don’t get involved in the day to day running of the school, instead they support and challenge the schools’ leadership team to drive school improvement.

Governors usually have to attend around six meetings during a school year. While being a school Governor is a commitment and responsibility, it offers you the chance to see first-hand the impact you can make in improving education for children in your community.

At present we have no vacancies for parent Governors at Hilltop. When we do, we will advertise the role and parents can apply.
