Mr K Hoskins
Trust IT Manager
Kev is the IT Manager for the Skills for Life Trust and has been a member of the central services team since the Trust was formed in January 2014. He has worked at Greenacre Academy for many years prior to this. The main objective of his role is to support and develop IT systems across all of the Trust schools.

Kev’s responsibilities include overseeing the installation of network and computer systems; maintaining, repairing and upgrading network and computer systems and diagnosing and fixing problems with the network, its hardware, software and systems. He is responsible for managing the IT technicians across the trust, supporting and helping them to develop within their roles.

The team has gone from strength to strength with the recent appointments of our Secondary Schools and Primary Schools IT Network Managers and we are well placed to keep moving forward and improving IT across the Trust.


Mr T Heyes
Trust Data Manager and DPO
Tom joined the Skills for Life Trust central services team in 2014 as Trust Data Manager and of Trust Data Protection Officer in the wake of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

Tom’s role as Data Manager involves overseeing the collection, analysis and reporting of many different types of data for a variety of audiences; from progress reports for parents and carers to school census returns for the DfE. Most importantly, he provides the leadership teams and teaching staff in all trust schools with the information needed to make decisions that give all pupils within the trust the opportunity to succeed.

As Data Protection Officer he has implemented a number of different systems, policies and procedures to make sure all Trust schools meet the requirements of the GDPR, with the help the central services team and senior leaders at each of the schools.


Mr A Jackson
Chief Financial Officer
Alex joined the Skills For Life Trust in January 2020 from a neighbouring Multi Academy Trust in Medway, where he held the position of Financial Controller. Alex has significant public sector financial management, planning and strategy experience in both Education and Healthcare across the home counties and London. Prior to this, he gained commercial Accountancy experience in Construction, Insurance and Property, working for a number of high profile firms. Alex is currently working towards finishing his CIMA qualification.
Alex is responsible for all aspects of Trust finance and is accountable to the CEO (AO), DCEO, Trust Finance & Audit Committee and Board of Trustees. His primary aims are to ensure the Trust adheres to the Academies Financial Handbook, the set of financial guidelines set by Central Government and that our Trust Annual statutory accounts are produced in the framework of the Charities Statement of Recommended Practice. This includes undertaking duties such as setting and maintaining budgets and five year financial forecasts, maintaining robust financial controls and producing accurate and timely management information, in order for School leaders to make informed decisions and to safeguard the financial future of the Trust.

Alex is also tasked with driving forward the Trust’s ambition to capitalise on the considerable commercial potential of the Trust’s assets in order to add to the funds that can be directly attributed to improving the educational offering in each of our constituent schools.  Alex is assisted by a team of six central finance staff, based at the Trust office and out at two Trust schools.
