Welcome to our Sixth Form – a wonderful blend of learning, respect and enjoyment

The Partnership of Greenacre and Walderslade (PGW) is jointly run by Greenacre Academy and Walderslade Girls’ School and has successfully grown into one of the largest sixth forms in Medway.  The collaboration between these schools enables us to offer a wider variety of courses and we have more than forty available so there is plenty to interest everyone.
We also offer different qualifications, which include:

Traditional academic A levels
BTEC (which gives the students the opportunity to study vocational subjects)
CTEC (which gives the students the opportunity to study vocational subjects)
Diplomas at level 2 and level 3
National Vocational Qualifications – we are the only school in Medway to deliver an NVQ in Engineering

All classes are taught by our expert teachers across the two sites with students and staff working together in an atmosphere of mutual respect.
Our unique sixth form also provides a number of progression routes.  Some students choose to go straight into employment or apprenticeships, but a significant number of our Year 13 students apply for a place at university.  We are confident that whatever your prior experience and whatever your career plans are, we have the ability to help you achieve your ambitions.
Your time in sixth form will be a challenging and rewarding experience.  We aim to produce highly motivated and dedicated students equipped with the right skills for the next stage of their life story.  Sixth formers are senior members of the school community and are seen as role models by the lower years and as young adults by the staff.  This is reflected in the way they are treated and the expectations that are held of them.
Sixth formers have Study periods on their timetables which are a perfect opportunity to focus on the independent learning and research tasks that characterise post 16 education.  They also complete two Study Buddy periods per fortnight in which they support the learning of our younger students, cementing their place as a key member of our whole school community.
There is the enrichment programme as well where students have time during school hours to take part in an assortment of activities to further enhance their studies.

This combination of learning, working and developing offers our students every opportunity to succeed and excel in their next level of education and in their future.
