We are part of the Skills For Life Trust and share the belief that education is not for students but for the adults they will become; preparing you for the future. We follow the Trust’s Skills for Life Programme which encourages young people to become successful learners, confident individuals, responsible citizens and effective contributors.
‘Skills for Life’ is at the heart of all we do within PGW 6th Form both within the curriculum and in extracurricular activities.
We encourage our students to reach their full potential both in their academic and personal progress throughout their time in year 12 and 13 and to follow the values everyday whether they are in school or out.
Our Mission Statement
To nurture and develop all people in our Trust so that they reach their full potential academically, vocationally, and personally, including being positive role models for future generations in the community. We will achieve this by providing high quality values-based education that cultivates employability and life skills making our schools the first choice for young people, parents, carers, staff and employers.
As part of the Skills for Life Trust both Greenacre Academy and Walderslade Girls School has the fantastic opportunity of being able to offer students the chance to work alongside local business people as part of a mentoring programme. The mentoring programme is designed to not only promote academic success with students but also prepare them for their ongoing career journey. We want to help them be competitive in the workplace by supporting them with CV writing and applications, by helping them to prepare and complete successful interviews and by giving them the skills to ensure they are able to continually excel in the workplace.
