Welcome to Walderslade Girls’ School, a caring, inclusive learning community, where your child is placed at the heart of every choice we make. We are committed to providing exceptional educational opportunities for girls and take pride in the strong, educated, confident young women they become. We are also a member of The Skills for Life Trust, which ensures that we have the resources, expertise and support to make our commitment a reality for our students and ensures we keep striving for excellence.

Being part of the Skills for Life Trust is an important part of life at Walderslade Girls’ School and is underpinned by the Skills for Life Values. This provides students with the softer skills that employers are demanding. Such as; respect, excellence, collaboration, independence, perseverance, enjoyment, leadership, integrity and care.

The aim of the trust is for all of our students to be ready to take their place in the workplace as the first choice for employers. The ethos is part of the everyday classroom experience, but also supported by regular expert speakers from a wide variety of industries and supportive business mentors. We work hard to match our students to mentors, who help them to realise their potential, with bespoke advice and guidance every step of the way.

All of our students study a wide and diverse curriculum, ensuring that they are able to pursue their individual dreams and career ambitions. Although the academic subjects are vital to the success of our students, we value the arts, both visual and performing. We offer a plethora of creative choices, from fine art to photography and dance to musical theatre. Our students are able to showcase their talents and their creative abilities are celebrated.

The goals of Walderslade Girls’ School are being realised by dynamic and determined teachers who have the best interests of the students at the forefront of their minds. Our teachers are passionate professionals who work hard to provide high quality, inclusive learning experiences, which mirror our Skills for Life ethos. Importantly, they understand the importance of building relationships with students and their families and how outstanding pastoral care is pivotal to their achievement.

I am exceptionally proud to be the Headteacher of Walderslade Girls’ School and lead the staff and students who make our community such a special place to learn and grow. Furthermore, I am very privileged to be in a position that allows me to see young women flourish and find their success and happiness. I warmly welcome you to come and experience all we have to offer your daughter and explore how we can support and guide her to be all she can be.
